I have Family Tree Maker. I would like to have a photo of each person
beside there name in the Ancestor Tree or the All In One Tree. Is there any
way to do this? If not are there any programs that will do it, and import
Family Tree Maker files?

Re: Pictures In Reports
Easy to do. View the tree you are wanting, select Contents, Items to
Include, Picture/Object and then the > to put it in the list. You have
to have the picture in the scrapbook as one of the first three items. I
have this set as my standard mode of operation.

Re: Pictures In Reports
I don't have a current FTM (still using 9.0) but the last time I added a
few pictures, it significantly increased the size of the file to the
point where it took noticeably longer to load when starting the program.
Each picture is the equivalent of many people in determining the size of
the file.
You might consider copying your file and adding the pictures to one of
them. Then you could work on the smaller file.
Another approach would be to produce a report in .RTF format, then use
your word processor to add the pictures. This will enable you to be more
creative in the placement of the pictures.
If you use either of these solutions you will want to produce a
subdirectory with all your pictures in it and make sure you back it up
along with all your data so they don't get separated from your
genealogy. This will save a lot of searching next time you want to do
this with an updated genealogy file.
Of course the downside is that you have to add all the pictures again if
you add names (or other information) to your FTM file.
With the first approach, you might just be able to merge the updated
file into the one with the photos, thereby saving some work adding
pictures again.

Re: Pictures In Reports
DPS, I did like Paul pointed out and did find that it in fact it increased
the file size. There was one other thing that I think it caused. Prior to
adding the photos, I could open FTM from the desk top icon. Now when I open
from the desk top the program comes up with all the input blocks blank. I
have to put my backup disk in for it to load the information.
Needless to say, I'm going to delete all the pictures out and just write a
book and put the pictures in that.
Thanks for you input also.
