Where would I be able to find a Canadian Birth certificate for someone born
in Manotick, Ontario, Canada in 1863?

Try this link. I called for Manitoba certificate and was sent application
form. Regulations required you to be closest next of kin and/or the
individual must be dead for twenty years. Cost was $25.00 CAD. Search was
for three certificates. Birth, marriage & death. I recieved photocopy of
death certificate.

Manotick can be found here at http://www.manotick.org/ Click on church links for
contact.
Vital stats says that birth records before 1869 can only be found in Church
records. Manotick has two churches and both can be contacted by email.
Beyond that.... the Church Of Latter Day Saints history center is your best
option.

Ontario Vita Stats did not begin until 1869 so you will
have to search church records.

See http://olivetreegenealogy.com/can/ont/ and click on
BIRTHS or VITAL STATS for help with Ontario Vital Stats and
substitute records for the pre-1869 years

Hi Dani,

As Jane watt has pointed out Ontario Vital Statistics do not start until
July 1 1869.
So your next best bet is the local parish of the religion of your people.
With a bit of luck the parish records will be on microfilm and be
available via the LDS FHC's.
If not then it will be a case of visit, write to the parish in question
or have some one research the parish records for you, for any of these
you will pay as to the amount that depends on who you are dealing with.
Happy Hunting.
