How can one find where a person died if the listing in the SSDI
doesn't list a location? I'm looking for info about Hugh Andrew
Cosgrove, born 12 Jan 1900, Hurlford, Scotland, died according to the
SSDI in Feb 1961, possibly in the Detroit area. Card was issued in
Michigan

Since he lived in Michigan prior to 1951 my only suggestion is to contact
the vital records office in Michigan and ask them to search for a death
certificate. See the following for Michigan Vital Records
http://www.50states.com/vitalrecords/michigan.htm In the 1930 census he had
a son, Hugh Cosgrove, Jr., who would appear to have died in Olympia,
Washington according to the SSDI. There is only one Cosgrove listed in the
white pages for Olympia. Perhaps a letter/phone call would be appropriate.
