Okay this may be a tough one. My wife's GGGF thought to be in Wisconsin in
1880. I have checked 1880 census records a few times and cannot find the
correct one. I was wondering if SKS can check the 1890 / 1900 Wisconsin Census
records to see if he or son is located on that one.
MIL had Father as Hans Hanson, Mother as Marie Halverson, Son Axel Halverson DOB
07/14/1863 In Norway. I found a record on Family Search for a Father Hans
Halvorsen, Mother Anne Marie Hansdr, Son Axel Ludvig <HANSEN> DOB 07/14/1863 In
Norway, but no census information for 1880. This could possibly be the same
people!?!? MIL needs to try and verify her source.
Our Axel married Carrie Wiggins (DOB August 17, 1866 in Gudbrandsdal, Norway)
October 17, 1888 in Elk Mound, Dunn, Wisconsin, U.S.A. So emigration happened
between 1863 - 1888. I plan to try and get the marriage certificate to see if
the parents are listed (does any one know if Wisconsin recorded this? I did
read on the Wis.gov home page that at the time all records submitted were
strictly voluntary until well after 1900.).
Mother Marie or Anne Marie died in 1905. Possibly Father and son were
carpenters.

Re: Wisconsin 1890 / 1900
An image sent privately of a couple (A__ and Carrie/Cassie?) in Dunn
County, Wisconsin, in 1900 census. Same birth year and month for husband.
Month correct but one year off for birth date of wife.
Will continue to look.

Re: Wisconsin 1890 / 1900
Michael:
There isn't a 1890 census for Wisconsin, but the state took a census in
1885, 1895, and 1905. For the most part those censuses aren't online (some
individual counties are). Your LDS library probably has them, or maybe you
can find some one to do the lookup. (WI State census info:
http://www.wisconsinhistory.org/genealo ... wisconsin/ ) If it were me,
I'd also try to track down the naturalization records
(http://www.wisconsinhistory.org/genealo ... at-faq.asp).
I emailed the census image for 1900.
