Legacy Family Tree question

Legg inn av dickm » 08 des 2004 02:12:56

I'm using Legacy 5.0 (26 Oct 2004) build, and I'm trying to delete an entire
family. Other than doing each name, is there an easier way?

You can tag the family and then delete tagged records. For details, see
the help under "delete:tagged records".

Use advanced tagging and deleting
1. make a copy of the database (just in case)
2. select the senior member of the family you want to delete
3. Choose Edit/Tag Records. The person you selected should show in the
box at the top.
4. In the advanced tagging section of the dialog box, select a tag
number to work on (make changes on # __)
5. Untag everyone (with that tag number). Prevents inadvertent
selections in case that tag was in use.
6. Tag the Family. There are options about who to include
7. You can confirm you selections by using Name List/Search/Show all
tagged (for the tag you used).
8. Then use Tools/Advanced Deleting, selecting the tag you used.
