I am not sure of the newspaper it would have been in. I have not been
able to locate a newspaper obit - funeral home - or anything since my
grandfather moved away to Florida.

Gordon Leslie Walker
SSN is 579-09-5030 and was pplied for in District of Columbia
Death Date: February 14, 1975 (Certificate # 13375) in Manatee,
Bradenton, Florida.
Birthdate: December 30, 1920
1st marriage to Nellie Amy May Mitchell on October 13, 1937 in Hamilton,
Ontario, Canada at Garside United Church
2nd marriage took place in Florida - spouse's name not known, but she
did have a daughter named "B.J." - (Betty Jean? Betty Jane? Bobby Jo?
Have no idea....)

Thanks so much....

In the city of Bradenton, FL there is the Bradenton Herald newspaper.
See http://www.bradenton.com/mld/bradentonherald/
Covering all of south western Florida is the Herald Tribune,
see http://www.newscoast.com/apps/pbcs.dll/frontpage
of course they don't have online obits back to 1975.

You might want to ask the genealogy or historical societies in that area
if they have a source for old obituaries.

The Manasota Genealogical Society
1405 4th Avenue
Bradenton 34205
(941) 755-544
The 200 member Society meets at the Manatee Central Library (1400 Bacarotta
Blvd.), where they are active in developing the genealogical collection and
historical records of the Library. The society produces "Cracker Crumbs", a
genealogical look at Manatee County.

The Manatee Historical Records Library
1405 4th Avenue West
Bradenton FL 34205
(941-741-4070)
The 1918 Carnegie Library houses all public records and documents of the
history of Manatee County.
Hours: M-F 8:30 to 5.

Manatee Heritage Association
1405 4th Avenue West
Bradenton 34205
(941) 741-4070

And also check out the Manatee county Florida genealogy webpage under the
USGenWeb.net website system.
