Looking for ancestry data for the subject person.
According to his obit from the New York Times, JBF was born on 13 Nov
1865 in Chicago Illinois, the son of Isaac Dudley and Mary Elizabeth
Pickering Fletcher.
He died in York, Maine on 17 Nov 1946.
He is best known for his translation of Dante's Inferno.

I have attempted to locate census data re his parents using a variety
of alternate searches but have not been successful.

Can someone assist and, if successful, send me census image(s)?
Thank you.

York Maine

Ps If by chance you know of anyone who is researching Fletcher or
Herrick (his wife's maiden name), I can supply digital images of their
grave markers, along with their son's.

----- snip---------

Mystery partially solved but new questions have arisen.
JBF was the step son of Isaac Dudley Fletcher: current assumption was
that Mary Elizabeth was JBF's birth Mother but that has yet to be
proven.
