HAYES 1854-1935
Researcher: Steve Hayes
PO Box 7648, Pretoria, 0001 South Africa
hayesstw@yahoo.com
HAYES, John, b. 1854 Clifton, Bristol, England, son of Sander
Hayes and Barbara CLEVELY, twin brother James. Married Maude
Alice ROGERS 5 Jul 1877 St Stephen's, Bristol. In 1881 English
census was living in Islington, London. Emigrated to the USA in
1885 and became a US citizen. In 1900 census of San Francisco
shown as living at 1 Randall Place with wife and 2 daughters,
Maud B. and Adelinde N. (also known as Adelaide M). From
1917-1919 is shown in directories as living at 1061 Newcomb
Avenue, San Francisco, California, but is not listed thereafter.
Looking for information about his death, and descendants. Did
the daughters marry? If so, who, and who are their children?
Does anyone have access to the 1920 or 1930 US Census to see if
they were still living there then?

Steve,

I have found him in the 1910 census still living at 1 Randall Place alone.
The image is not clear weather he is a widower. I am sending the image
email. I cannot find him or his wife and children in 1920 or 1930. The
online marriage and death records for California are too late to be of help.

I hope you sent it to the Yahoo address, as I've found Hotmail is unreliable.

Thanks very much.

He appeared in directories up to 1919, so I suspect he may have died just
before the census, and the daughters may have married by then.
