Wilhelm M.Rosendal. Can he be a brother of Andrea?
The M. maybe means Martinsen, and his son is called Martin.

Wilhelm Magnus, his fathers name is Morten Andreas Rosendahl. I assume this is family.

Maybe the parents and two sisters 1865? The mother "sindssvag", had a mental disease.

Do you beleave this is the right family?

Hello Tove,
Thank you very much for your help! The records you have found look very interesting,
I will try and see if I can find any other members of the family in the area of Wisconsin
where Andrea lived.
She married a man from Sweden named John Strom. He came to America in 1872 and they married about 1875. I can't find them in the 1880 census, and Andrea was dead before the 1900 census, so it is difficult to find information on the family. Her date of birth and
father's name are listed on her death record from 1899.
Thank you again for your time!
Mvh,
Brian

Re: Andrea Rosendahl born 23.06.1844
It looks like Wilhelm Magnus Rosendahl made several trips to America. His son, Morten Andreas Rosendahl, born 23 Jul 1861 in Bergen lived in Chicago and died there in 1889.

Hi.
If Andrea was born in 1844, it is probably unlikely that she is a true daughter of Morten Rosendal.
His wife, Anne H. has been insane since 1840, and lived (in a hospital?) In Schleswig (Germany?) Since 1842.
I suggest that you move your inquiry to the US-emigrants thread.

Re: Andrea Rosendahl born 23.06.1844
There is a Andrea Rosendal in the right age but not with father called Martin.
http://www.digitalarkivet.no/cgi-win/We ... =2579#ovre
But why not get the info from the U.S. first.
So can you continue to search in Norway, with perhaps more information.
(You write that Martin was born in Bergen in 1861. In Census 1865 states that he was born in Sogn.)
