I am looking for infomation on the Parents and siblings of Maren Pedersdatter Indian.
Born 11 Jun 1830, Indtian gard #25 Froya

He husband was Iver Benjaminsen Vedo
Born 18 April 1827, Vedo gard #52 froya

Her father's names was Peder Olsen Indtian

Maren Pedersdatter Indtian;

- her parents: Peder Olsen and Lorentina ? The names appear in the Church Registrary Book for Dolm, Hitra Parish, as available here on Internet. However, I can't read the rest of
the mother's name ! It is possible that she has 2 first names, Lorentina Johanna, it may also be read as Lorentina, the daughter of Johannes ( Johannesdatter ) Something more, probably her birthplace, is added after the name. Her date of birth is actually given as 10th June, 1830. Her parents were properly married.

- her husband: Iver Benjaminsen Vedø; his father is Benjamin Olsen Vedø. Vedø is a smaller island off the southeastern coast of the greater island Hitra.

- her siblings: There are quite a few Pedersen or Pedersdatter living on the island of Inntian ( older form: Indtian, an island off the eastern coast of the greater island Frøya ) - as per the 1865 census. However, it will take some time to check their baptism in the Reg. books as available here on the net. I wanted first to find the marriage of Peder and Lorentina, which would give a useful limit for a starting date of the search. However, the "Family Search" is hopeless to use for me tonight, it should normally not be difficult to find it there.

Anyway, as a starter I hope this is of some use to you.

Hello again,

today the Family Search ( VRI ) works here.
Peder Olsen, age 35, was married to Lorentine Maria Johansdatter, age 20, on January 7th, 1827. His father: Ole Pedersen, hers: Johan Pedersen ( they were probably not related, Pedersen being such a common name. )

Starting 1827 in the Parish registrary book, their firstborn appears to be: Lars Peter Pedersen, born 12th September, baptised 14th October 1827. Going through these books on the net, you will probably find other siblings to Maren. Upon the birth of Lars Peter, the small family has settled on the neighbouring island of Uttian ( older form: Udtian )

An easier way to find more info about this family might be by looking through the local history book for Frøya ( "Frøyaboka" ) which I don't have available to me now, but possibly other readers here may take a look at Uttian and Inntian ( collectively called "Tian" ! ) The book mentioned might also be downloaded by many people here on the net, I did have it here myself, but I seem to have lost it.

- a little more information may be extracted from the Registrary, the wedding 7th Jan. 1827:
Peder Olsen was born at Brevig, which is a small place belonging to the farm Svellingen, Frøya North ( from the 1801 census ):

if the link works correctly, the family appears there, look for the word Brevig at the right hand side. As regards Lorentine, her place of birth is difficult to read, but it may also be Svellingen. She was born after 1801, thus not to be find in the census of that year.

Sorry about getting back to you so late but I have been traveling and just now getting home.

You mentioned the Froya book and I had found several site with copies. Do you know of any that are in English?

I spent many hours with a dictionary trying to translate the infomation.

to my knowledge Frøyaboka is not translated into other languages.
But I might be wrong, in which case I hope people here will correct me.

Any special information you would like translated ?
I would be perfectly willing to help you there - provided the paragraphs are not too long

underlining what should be translated. Alternatively writing down sentences in the e-mail.
