I am trying to find out about the parents of:
Berntine Katharine Petersdatter
Born 15 Nov 1844 on froya
Died 10 May 1877 Ktutvig Farm Froya

Her parents names were Peter Lorrnsen and Indianne Knudsdatter.

Other then their names I have found no other infomation about them.

Yes, they are both born, married and died in Frøya, make a search in "FamilySearch" and you'll find their marriage.
Berntine Kathrine Petersdatter married Ole Thomasen, Krutvik in 1864.

Just so happens that Peter and Indianne are also my great-Great-grandparents.

Their daughter Berntine Katharine Petersdatter married Ole Tommasen Krudtvig

One of their sons was Johan Martin Olsen who was my grandfather.

If I tanslates this correctly we have the 1865 Census.

We have Peter Lornts. age 61 (1804) Farmer - Freeholder, etc.
I have seen his name as Lorrensen and his fathers first name as Lorentz which would be Lorentsen?

The birthplace for the family group is listed as Hitterens Prgj. which I can find no reference. Is that another name for the Island of Hirta? Or another farm name?

The farm name is Espnaes and it is number 284D?

Hi Michael.

The name of Island is Hitra.

All Census has the same number:

1801-telling for 1617 Hitteren

1865-telling for 1617 Hitteren

1875-telling for 1617 Hitra

1900-telling for 1617 Hitteren

It is a lot of Islands in this area and perhaps some others was under the same Census in 1801 and 1865

As you see it's two islands Hitra (Hitteren) and Frøya (Frøien). After ca. 1870 they were separated to 2 rural districts. They also belonged to the same parish: Dolm,Hitra. The church on Frøya is named Sletten.
About the spelling og names:
According to the churche-book their names are : Peter Lorentsen , Espnæs and Indiane Knudsdatter, Wågø

Peter's parents are Lorents Sivertsen (Not born in Frøya) and Lisbet Catharina Ingebrigtsdatter she is probably born in Hitra.

Indiane's parents are Knud Olsen (not born in Frøya) and Beret Johansdatter.(probably not born in Frøya)

OK got it!

Now from I have been able to gather is that Peter Lornts and Indiane had the following children

Caroline 1837
Berntine Katherine 1844
Anne Marie 1846
Lornts 1848
Peter A. 1851
Lorentsz 1854
Johan P. 1856
Gabriel 1859

All born on the island of Hitra

And because of the gap between the 1801 and 1865 Census it would be difficult to determine if their was any additional children except perhaps through church records.

How am I doing so far?

A correction : Peter Lorentsen and Indiane Knudsdatter's children are all born on the farm Espnæs on the island og FRØYA.
There is a gap between 1837 and 1844 so i'll try to read the church-book to find if they had children born in this period.

You mentioned that the name in the church book is Indianne Knudsdatter Wågø. Wågø I assume is a farm name. Is it located on Froya also?

Yes, Indiane was born on the farm Wågø in Frøya.

I've seeked in the church-book for the period 1837 to 1844 and I found the following dates:

Caroline born 1837, on Humlingsvær the farm on Frøya Peter and Indiane lived at this time.
Gabriel born 1839, also Humlingsvær, probably he died as child (the youngest child also named gabriel, and I can't find him as confirmed )
Lars born 1842 , Espnæs, Frøya
Berntine Kathrine born 1844 Espnæs, Frøya
According to the local history book Peter bought the farm Espnæs around 1840.

Glad to help. I found new informations for myself too.
My grandfather (1880-1961) was born and lived on Frøya, and I remeber he talked about relatives who had emigrated to North-America, and now I know about one of their descendants! Fun.
