My first question is can anyone tell me exactly what church it is listed as Kristiansand in the LDS index records for a baptism in 1736?
Also if anybody has and information on the surname Motrum/Murthrum
my 4th grandfather was
OLE WILLUMSEN MUTHRUM
Christened 8 Sept 1736 Kristiansen
father: Ole Willumsen Motrum (a carpenter)
mother: Karen Hansdatter Moss
Ole had at least 2 marriages, but the one I am interested is was 7 Dec 1779 with
Inger Hansdatter
Ole Willumsen Muthrum became a master shoemaker
They had several children to include their daughter:
Birthe Sinrene Olesdatter Muthrum
Born 15 Jul 1787
Brithe married Thomas Pedersen Grønseth from Trondheim on 15 Apr 1815 in Kristiansand. They then moved to Trondheim. I don't know Thomas occupation, but he was the son of a master shoe maker. He died about two years later (leaving behind 2 very young children)
At some point Brithe came back to Kristiansand as in the 1865 Kristiansand census she shows up as a widow in the household of Ole Jacobsen a master shoe maker. This maybe a nephew as she had a brother names Jacob
I am wondering about the mastershoe maker thing. Is this something that Kristiansand is noted for? In my Grønseth line of master shoe makers, several have had an association with Kristiansand for some reason or another. Twice there has been marriages that the wife is from Kristiansand and the daughter of a master shoe maker.
I would appreciate any information or suggestions.
Thanks
