Re: Hovin Church - photographs of the inside
Thank you so much Bente for that link. I think that those pictures show me exactly what I was looking for. I can even see what I think is the baptismal font. I'll contact the church direct to see if they have a more close up photo of the font. Thanks again for your help. Med vennlig hilsen Darryl

Hovin Church - photographs of the inside
Early last month I was able to visit the church at Hovin where some of my OLSEN ancestors were baptised and buried in the first half of the 19th century. I searched the graveyard but, as I expected, there were no OLSEN headstones from that time as the graves would have been re-used many years ago. T...

Re: Where to find a Marriage in the 1950's
Thanks Olaf. I'm still a bit puzzled as the birth register definately says June but it does seem to be out of sequence so perhaps the register is wrong. The census has September and I know all census data is liable to errors, but then the grave has September also. I think its one of those minor diff...

Thank you all for your help, all the links that have been provided are all correct. Erikka was born and baptised the same day in Sagene, 28 June 1891 according to the kirkebok. Where to find a Marriage in the 1950's
I have just learnt that my grandmother's cousin Erika Marie ERIKSEN probably married Alf Amundsen ILBRAATEN in Oslo between 1949 and her death in June 1966. Forgot to ask
, which parish do you think I should search for baptisms in the Baerum district about 1771 - looking for Nils Pedersen.
I couldn't find Baerum in Digitalarkivet for that period but would it be Asker?

In the 1700's I have some ancestors who were from the farm Granie. It seems it could have also been spelled Grannie, Granys and perhaps Granstuen. Would anybody have any information on this farm? G'day Olaf. From what I have found on the web, it looks like the paper mill at Nestingen was quite a large business in its day, supplying a high percentage of Norway's paper in the 1800's. I'm not surprised then, that the salary of the manager was relatively high at the time. I know very, very few N...

Thank you for having a look Olaf.
The link just worked for me but it goes to the front cover of the book. I found that you then have to type in the page number 218 in the little box called Ga til side. This will take you to pages 218 and 219.
I hope you can have another look

The informant was Ida Jane Evans so maybe there is a link to the John Evans in 1910?
